The Rules

A few ground rules to keep Makers Breakfast a great place for everyone. Read them, agree, and pull up a chair.

Participation & Respect

  • Be kind and constructive. We're all here to build, learn, and grow—feedback is welcome, but keep it thoughtful and respectful.
  • No tolerance for hate speech, discrimination, or harassment. This is a space for everyone.
  • No DM spam — ask for permission before sending DMs.

Value > Promotion

  • No blatant self-promo. Sharing your work is encouraged (we love seeing what you're building!), but make sure you're contributing more than you're promoting.
  • Use dedicated channels for sharing projects or links. Keep general discussion clutter-free.
  • No Product Hunt links ever — we are not your upvote community.

Collaboration over Competition

  • Support each other's ideas. This isn't a pitch battlefield. Give feedback, offer help, and celebrate wins—big or small.

In or Out

  • Lurking is okay, but contribution is magic. We're not aiming for huge numbers—we care more about active, curious members. Say hi, ask a question, share a struggle.

Building in Public

  • Show your work, not just the polished stuff. Share failures, messy prototypes, or experiments—we learn more from the how than the launch post.
